A properly implemented programme of risk assessments can assist in the prevention of injuries, fatalities, property damage incidents and other losses. Apart from the corporate and personal benefits of an effective system, employers and self employed have a legal duty to make suitable and sufficient assessments of risk to help ensure the safety of all.
Risk assessments must be carried out by a competent person, which includes a combination of knowledge, experience, skill and personal qualities, along with an in-depth understanding of the principle and procedures of how a sufficient risk assessment system should work.
Course Aim
Upon successful completion of the training program and final assessment, candidates will have a good understanding of the:
• Importance of contributing to the risk assessments with in a workplace
• Ways risk assessments should be conducted
• How to organise and implement a risk assessment programme or
contribute to it
• Need to identify specific training highlighted through risk assessment
• Legal requirements of risk assessment
The training time to cover the course must take at least 7 hours. Candidates receive a full colour course book which will help when completing the assignment and self-evaluation based on their own workplace findings – showing an understanding of risk assessment (appox. 3-6 hours in time) which is then sent to be marked. All successful candidates receive a qualification and certificate which is valid for 3 years.
