In 2006, new EU legislation introduced HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) legislation into the UK. This necessitated a review of food safety training to combine the old ‘Basic Food Hygiene’ training with HACCP. The new training is called Food Safety Training at levels 1 & 2. These standards have now replaced the old Basic Food Hygiene standards.
